FTP Test Protocol

Regularly perform a FTP test to ensure you are maximising your training efficinecy

Automated Test protocol

wattSys users benefit from a pre made FTP test. This makes it easy for a rider to perform a repeatable test and automatically be assigned a FTP value.

The test comprises of 3 components:

  • 10 minute warmup
  • 20 minute test - As hard as you can sustain for 20 minutes, remember to pace it well!
  • 5 minute cool down

Instructions will be displayed throughout the test. The key component is the 20 minute portion. This should be ridden as hard as you can sustain for 20 minutes. Don't go off to hard and fade, try and pace things well so you can increase things in the final few minutes if possible.
